Allison Moore of the FPAA attended a reception with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) Board, ADOT staff and other community members. The ADOT board is the appointed group of members from across Arizona that prioritize ADOT projects in the 5 year construction plan. The reception happened on the eve of the monthly ADOT board meeting that was hosted in Nogales, Arizona. Participants discussed the importance of Nogales and Santa Cruz County for the entire state, and local community members talked about key aspects of the region as it pertains to transportation, including the importance of trade and tourism.

The following morning, Allison Moore gave testimony during the ADOT Board Meeting Call to the Public, calling for a full funding solution for improvements to the Ruby Road and East and West Frontage Road intersections and completion of two-way frontage road access on both sides of I-19. The FPAA testimony emphasized the improvements as crucial to food security in the U.S. given than produce imported and sold by Arizona companies is crucial in supplying fresh produce to consumers across the country.
