The Fresh Produce Association of the Americas (FPAA) has joined a broad coalition of U.S. business groups in signing a letter to Senate Appropriations leaders urging full U.S. funding for the OECD, ILO, FAO, and WTO.

These organizations play a critical role in shaping global standards that impact U.S. agriculture, trade, and competitiveness. The letter highlights the importance of strong U.S. engagement to ensure that international rules are science-based, fair, and aligned with U.S. interests—especially in areas such as food safety, plant health, border inspections, and global trade policy.

The coalition warns that reduced U.S. participation could allow other countries to shape international standards in ways that disadvantage American industries. Continued leadership is essential to maintaining a level playing field for U.S. businesses and safeguarding efficient cross-border commerce.

FPAA is proud to support this unified effort advocating for strong U.S. representation in these global institutions.
